handmade bunting

August 22, 2011

A friend of mine is due with her first child, a girl, 2 days after me (she is dying to know what I am having!) and she needed a little bunting for the little peanut’s (that’s what they call the baby) room. I happily obliged to make her one and I hope she likes the way it turned out!

School starts tomorrow and I wish I had more of the house clean before this new chapter begins, but whatever… the show must go on! I will officially have a kindergartener! Eeks!!!
This space is about to enter a whole new dimension now that our home is about to turn into a homeschool zone. I can’t wait to see how this all turns out and document and share our journey with you all here. Thanks for always being so interested (and sending encouragements) in our little part of the world!

cant' wait to hear all about it!

  • We are officially starting homeschool this year too with our kindergartner! I'm sure you will do a wonderful job!

  • Yay, new babies everywhere. I'm so glad i had my 4 before my first started big school, i could not have committed to those school runs while morning sick (see how twins speed the time up that it takes to have 4 children). As it turned out, taking 3 little ones on the school run (middle ones had preschool a couple of days a week) was awesome as i had a mix of 1-3 children home each day, it was like weaning me off them, i still miss them when they are at school (eldest in high school now). Good luck, i love school mums, they are fantastic, living the same life as you, only different but with fabulous ideas. Love Posie

sounds all very good – but i have a question ruby, what is with social life and making friends and learning more from others? what's your plan to give this opportunities to your daughters? : )

I just made bunting earlier this summer, but I put binding tape on the edges because of fabric shortages. I love the way yours looks!

Can't wait to find out what you are having!

Your bunting turned out beautiful! I am looking forward to hearing how your homeschooling goes. Hearing you talk about it reminds me of homeschooling my girlies when they were younger. Kindergarten through sixth are really fun and rewarding grades to homeschool. My girlies are both in high school now and go to an independent study school. I had a hard time letting go of teaching them!

Looking forward to getting a peek into what homeschooling's like for you. Debated and debated, and am sending our oldest to public school this week…. the debate still isn't over. You'll do wonderful! Just keep up what you're already doing 🙂
