another quick pillow

March 25, 2013

pillowpillowa clean roomAwhile back a friend gave me some of her husband clothes from South Africa and I’m finally getting around to using it, so I turned it into a pillow. I guess I’ve been on a pillow sewing thing of late, but it’s a quick way to scratch the I-want-to-sew-something-itch. I’m still stuck on the arrangement of pillows on our little bed turned couch, but this will do for now.

I’m thankful for the internet because there is always an overflow of good ideas. I love Rachel’s light solution and her amazingness of a rug. This tassel chandelier is so vibrant and I’d totally love to make a quilt like this, and this one just seems great for teaching faces and corners of shapes. What are some of your favorite ideas that are floating in the internet right now?

I can’t believe that RUG. What?

Also I sort have a thing for pillows and definitely understand. It’s a great way to add an easy touch. Also throw blankets…but I haven’t gotten to making those 🙂

  • great african fabric and the size is good enough for an obong pillow 🙂

Oh, your home looks sooo pretty and organized and clean! Very clever to use that shirt with such pretty fabric to make a lovely pillow! Here is one idea that I found on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/pin/354165958166379623/ We were a little late planting ours, but I found some grass seed that is supposed to germinate quickly (3-5 days). I think we’ll be enjoying ours after Easter though!

that pillow is so perfect, and looks great with the others. i bought a small little crewel-work piece recently and have been thinking it would look good as a pillow.. and might be the perfect little project to give me a break from other stuff i should be sewing!

  • You’re so sweet to have mentioned my DIY’s! I can’t wait to see your backyard when it’s all put together and blooming. All of these posts about fixing it up and harvesting and playing in the dirt have me excited for our first real stretch of warm weather this month!
