lots of pillows

April 25, 2013

pillowspillowspillowspillowspillowspillowspillowspillowsAll I’ve been sewing of late are pillows. One day this past week, I just made all of these in an afternoon. I had been dying to make them for the past few weeks, but have been busy with some other things, so the first chance I got a free moment, I busted all these out. Actually, I did it on Earth Day, so I consider that to be my personal celebration for it. I used materials I already had and was quite pleased with the result. I used an old tablecloth for one, the leftovers from this pillow for another, and my faves are the color blocked ones. I have one more in my head that I want to make, but I can’t seem to find the fabric I thought I had for that.

I mainly started making pillows because our outside bench needed some, but then kept on going to add more inside. Actually, now that I am thinking about it, there are two more I want to make! You can just call me the crazy pillow lady. I think all my past 3 makes in this space have all been pillows. That probably makes for a boring blogger, but whatever, I’m going with a personal need and right now our home needs pillows. Lots of them! I guess it’s my current DIY obsession. What’s yours?

Woa! those pillows are really cute! I love the one with one big blue/red flower 🙂
I’m ready your blog very regularly (this is one of my everyday blog reading!) and I saw you have a couples of Lotta from Stockholm shoes. I have a little question about them because I really want a pair but i’m not used to walk with heels (i”m a flat shoes girl!) are they comfortable and easy to walk with? haha that’s a weird question sorry..
Have a beautiful day! Cheers from France!!

I’m totally a flats person too but I find Lotta from Stockholm shoes to be super comfortable. They’re the only heels I can walk around in all day. :]

I love the bright colors of your pillows! I’m trying to embrace more colors and prints, but even then my choices still tend to gear towards neutrals and sublte prints. You were actually the one who inspired me to learn how to sew and my very first project were throw pillow covers. Now I think you’ve just inspired me to make some more! 😉

I’ve been going bonkers appliqueing baby onesies for a friend. I might just toss them around the house like your throw pillows…..

Doesn’t it feel good to make something? It’s the ultimate “me time.” Sratches all kinds of itches at once and it’s useful, too!

Your pillows are beautiful and so cheerful!

what do you use to stuff the pillows?

I was also wondering what you use. Do you buy pillow forms, or do it yourself?

Just found your site last night and was sitting up all night reading through your entries! I love that you have a garden and making your own little orchard. I just moved back from Cambodia (where I lived in an apartment) and we finally have a yard. I cannot wait to grow vegetables! Kinda like what my mom did when I was growing and she would say, “Go pick so and so from the garden” I love that!

Also, I’m going to learn how to make pillow cases. Yours are awesome!

Love them all! I’m a pillow junkie (much to my husband’s dislike) but I say the more the merrier!

  • Mandi says:

I live them all so much! I might try my hand at some similar. I used to make and hunt down pillows all of the time, but then J settled into a bunch that I liked quite a bit. Now I am itching for a change again. Always itching for a change in Jen way or another. 🙂
