family meals: week 111

April 24, 2016

Gnocchi with Sage and Tomato Sauce. The girls had been wanting to try gnocchi (thanks to Cutthroat Kitchen). All the girls loved it and said it’s like eating marshmallows. Personally, I’m not a fan, but I’d be willing to try it again.

Crab Cakes and Swiss Chard. You can’t go wrong with this crab cake recipe. My slight change is that I bake mine rather than fry.

Week of 4/25-4/29
Monday: Chicken Tacos
Tuesday: Dining out (True’s bday)
Wednesday: Spicy Ramen with Tofu
Thursday: French Bread Pizza
Friday: Spicy Tuna Rolls

I haven’t done one of my family meal planning posts in awhile, but I have still been meal planning (even if it hasn’t been shared here). Meal planning and cooking is so natural to me now that I no longer need to document it here for accountability. Our go-to meals lately have been fish and rice. What have you been having for dinner these days?

Beautiful pictures and yummy sounding menus! Crab cakes are only something I’ve had in restaurants so it would be fun to try them at home. Where/how do you buy the crabmeat? I was feeling uninspired and texted a friend for meal ideas. Our kids were excited to eat hot dogs and broccoli last week after her suggestion.

Weird, part of my comment was cut off… can you tell us a bit more about when and how you plan your meals? I tend to be more spontaneous but there’s something appealing to me about knowing what’s for dinner and having all the ingredients ready to be prepped! It must take intentionality. 🙂

I miss my family meals posts. It’s been such a different season for our family this year, so my regular meal planning go thrown to the wayside. Hopefully, when school resumes (and all the routines), it will resume. I’ve taken photographs of some of our meals, but just haven’t shared them. And I sincerely appreciate that you appreciate this space and the time I put into it. 🙂 It means a lot.
