a barking dog

October 10, 2017

Lately, I’ve been realizing how much I sound like a barking dog, and I’m not talking the cute kind. With the girls, I’m constantly barking orders and to-dos, and my tone definitely lacks a certain care and love. It’s exhausting for me, and certainly exhausting for them. Ben’s always reminding me about my tone. I’m seeing how much I need to grow in that area, and I’ve been trying to be more mindful about it this week. I read this last week and it totally rebuked my heart and it’s been my prayer this week…

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.

I’m trying to be more mindful as we go through the school day, and as I remind them of their daily responsibilities. I want to speak with a heart and tone that displays the compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience that comes from Christ. I think part of it is learning how to not rush through moments to quickly just to try and move onto the next thing. I’m growing and learning, just as the girls are. God definitely uses them to show me a lot of my shortcomings and things like this definitely does good to refine my heart.

  • I have been too. It is bad. Plus I have bipolar so I am more sensitive in general with the change in my attitude so i keep putting myself in check so that I am calm always.
I’ve been trying to be more positive, enjoy my children, and give inspiring advice rather than just yelling my mouth off at them to explain their disrespect and all that stuff….ugh. It has been helping. I often will say to myself, “I am a kind mom. I am a good mom. I am slow to anger.” This helps me concentrate on that positive encouragement to myself. Then I say, “Be like Christ. Show them Christ.”

It’s all grace and Christ carrying both of us through. Thankfully, forgiveness abounds at the cross for those who repent and believe.

  • thanks for another good reminder. I definitely need to be more compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. I’ve felt weary lately with a 4 month old and a toddler who will be 3 in a few months.

Oh it’s tough! I struggle all the time and I need truth and grace all the time to set me straight.

I love reading about your pet peeves – probably b/c I’ve usually thought about most of them at some point! Too funny. It’s definitely more interesting to hear it from the perspective of someone who’s been on both sides.dog

Dogs are pretty common but this is my first time to read about rabbits being used for therapy. Who would’ve thought that those cute lovable balls of fur provide medical relief too! My bunny Yin died at 5 years old but he was my lucky charm and source of stress relief when he was still alive dog

Oh, I am sorry you felt that way at the concert! I completely sympathise because it happens to me sometimes too, and just last week a fellow PhD student almost fainted while delivering a paper. Not fun, nope.

Also, if it is any consolation, I once managed to put the cat’s medicine in my cup instead of hers. Well, thank goodness I realised that :pBest dog food for bulldogs

There are so many dog and animal cafés where I live in Hong Kong, but I’ve seen that not all of them treat the animals with care. It’s refreshing to read about a dog café owner who’s drive comes from a spot of love and not money. I’d love to visit one day. Best dog food for bulldogs

Hi, The fact that the Sphynx is a hairless cat is only a small part of why we are Sphynx lovers. Sphynx cats and Sphynx kittens have very unique personalities. I really do not consider myself an owner of Sphynx cats, because really, my Sphynx cats and Sphynx kittens own me! Sphynx cats and Sphynx kittens love their owners unconditionally. The Sphynx has so much love to give and is willing to love anyone that will allow them into their lives.Sphynx Cats

I did them in my main living area and they look horrible. I did them just like you did and everything scratches them! They were so beautiful at first and I’m really bummed. We plan on covering them with the tile that looks like wood now that I have a great dane.French Bulldog

I did paper bag floor in my kitchen and dining room. You know, like all the tutorials say not to do? I love love love! the look, but it hasn’t really help up well and we’ll be covering it with something else, probably this summer. But I would not be opposed to trying it in a bedroom, where it wouldn’t receive nearly as much of a pounding as in a kitchen. Here’s my post about the floor, both making it and the update:pomeranian for sale

Wonderful!!!! My husband was skeptical but this changed his mind. We had to use a little gas grill so we wanted something that cooked quickly. This worked great! I didn’t have time to make pico de gallo so I drained some Rotel with the same ingredients (lime, cilantro, etc) and used it. Worked great! Thank you so much for sharing this! We WILL use it again.cheap pomeranian puppies for sale

We run with our dogs – I usually run with my German Shorthaired Pointer Rosemary and my husband runs with our Viszla Sage. Rosie is almost eight and I have ran off lead with her for about six years. She is old enough to know not to start out at a sprint She loves the fall weather right now and usually is a few steps ahead of me. But being a good puppy, she knows to slow down at streets or if people are coming. But I think it is the main point that how I maintain the health of dog. In this method CBD For Pets is very important. By the way great share. You article provides a lots of information.

Interesting idea, but the dog will eventually lose interest if he isn’t able to catch the hot dog once in a while. It’s the same thing with toy rope tug of war; you have to let them win sometimes.best dog stairs

You made my day reading this. Shelter dogs are wonderful. and yes you certainly can get a purebred if thats what you have your mind st on as some who have bought a purebred and found they werent fitting onto their lifestyle . I have known a number of people who have ‘bought ‘ (it makes me shudder) a Frenchie and they find out the breed is prey driven or perhaps is very high strung. I rescue squirrels and I have some unreleasables that I love so dearly — they are my family. I just had a sweet little girl pass from circumstances I’m not quite sure of — either she aspirated or had pneumonia. I feel like I really dropped the ball and that I am to blame. I miss her and its so painful. I’m hoping she is with my other kids who have passed on so that she won’t be alone. How can I learn if she is happy? I’d give anything to hold her and all of my others, again.funny dog memes

you are under-utilizing the grill! If you want a milder red onion taste, brush the slices with olive oil and throw them on the fire. Some grilled zucchini and/or asparagus can get chopped to go in the pasta salad, maybe with cubed grilled haloumi as well. Cats
