We’ve been enjoying the fruits of our tomato garden. We’ve had a couple tomato plants not thrive as well due to under watering and spider mites, but we’ve been able to enjoy a few batches from the others. We pick them and they’re pretty much gone that same day, they haven’t even lasted long enough to make it into any dishes. The other day, Ben told me the best part about growing tomatoes is seeing how excited the girls get when they eat it. I definitely agree with him, it really does make all the effort worthwhile.

Hello- These look so yummy! We are enjoying a bounty from our garden too! I am always wondering this time of year how your tomato plants look…ours have been through thunderstorms and winds and are hanging low and just pretty much a mess. We can still dig in for the tomatoes, but I’m just wondering how the trellising you use works out by the time the plants are sprawling. I need to find better solutions for the heavy plants we have. Thanks for all your inspiration!
yum! tomatoes are the best!

Isn’t it the best?! I can’t imagine a summer without even just a tiny tomato garden.
I keep thinking that I want to take some non-iphone photos of them and make a large print for our kitchen wall, there’s something so pretty about tomatoes!
Only tomatoes doing well this year are our cherry tomatoes. The other two are suffering from blossom end rot which is awful. You think you have all this beautiful fruit and then you see the end rot. Hoping my fixes correct them so we can at least get one decent harvest this season.
Did you replant all new plants this spring/summer? My really good friend planted tomatoes last year (she lives in Upland) and because last winter was so mild, they wintered over and her plants are exploding and have so much good fruit.
