raspberry sorbet and chocolate chip
rasberry sorbet + chocolate chip = a happy tummy
Tomorrow is my Brave’s birthday and she is turning the big three! It feels like she has been two forever, so it is about time she turned three. She is pretty happy that tomorrow will be her special day and True is proud that tomorrow is her happy unbirthday. It will definitely be a happy day for everyone as we have some special things planned to celebrate. I really love birthdays (just ask Ben as I am counting down until mine, which is now three months away) and I am glad my girls love birthdays (and unbirthdays) too!!!

my root beer float

July 23, 2010

root beer float
I wanted one and had the ingredients left over from a recent church family get together at our place, so I made one. Here’s how I make mine (not that it is original or anything)…
ingredients for my root beer float:
1 1/2 scoops of vanilla ice cream
1 cup of root beer
a generous sprinkling of cinnamon on top
a generous sprinkling of cinnamon
The cinnamon just does it for me… it gives it a little extra oomph! It was the perfect little de-stresser from my afternoon of preparing for Renegade. One more day and I have some more loose ends to tie up before I am completely ready. Well, ready or not… here I come!
Any of you planning on going? Please be sure to stop by and say hi and don’t be shy to let me know you are a reader. It is always nice to meet a reader because it is like meeting with an old friend!
Wish me luck (or pray for me) please…
p.s. winner announced and i have a couple polaroid tuesdays to put up still, but just haven’t had any time to scan. i will breathe easy on monday… sort of.

from garden to table

July 21, 2010

We picked lots of tomatoes from our garden yesterday. We have about 29 varieties growing, so the result should be lots, right? Some plants are doing so-so and some plants are really flourishing, we will get it better next year. In the meantime, we will enjoy the harvest that God gives us.

The girls had a blast picking them and then devouring them. I have a feeling this space will be seeing a lot of tomatoes very soon because we love tomatoes! Plus, don’t tomatoes make such pretty pictures?
Tell me about your favorite dishes utilizing fresh tomatoes. I would love to hear about it!

eat your brussel sprouts

July 8, 2010

They were planted in December. Harvested a couple weeks ago (not cause it took 6 months to grow, but we just waited a long time to pick them!). Just eaten yesterday.

And it tasted really good. Then again, what does Ben make that doesn’t?!! Did you know we dream of owning a farm, not an animal one, but more like a blueberry farm or something of that sort. Yes, dreams are nice…
I feel a bit better about my stressing out and thank you for your putting up with me and sharing happy words that helped make me feel better. I am not going to back out of Renegade (Stephanie and Amy would you like to help?) and my mom’s party will be a blast. I just needed to stress out a bit, but yesterday was a good work day and step by step I will be ready for both. With lots of prayer of course. So pray for me. Plus, I know today will be another good day and the next day will be even better! What do you think?

hello panda and blueberries

hello panda and blueberries
Some hello panda cookies and blueberries made a nice afternoon snack for myself. The girls were all napping and I took a break from my goings on in the house to enjoy a little treat. I love yummy treats!

This weekend will be full of treats as it will be spent hanging out with friends and family. And it is Friday… you all know I love Fridays! Enjoy your weekend of chillaxing and for some… fireworks!

yogurt with my sistersdinner with my sisters

Tuesday was a blissful day of getting some things done, which included yogurt and dinner with my two sisters, but I am still stuck on which umbrella. Ah! It takes us forever to decide things, but I guess that is better than being an impulsive shopper!

We just get mad at ourselves sometimes because we just take so darn long to make decisions. The only time we are fast (kinda fast) is at the flea market and that is cause if we don’t decide then, well it will probably be gone the next minute. Do you take forever when making a purchase or do you buy on impulse?
