I used one of the beaded necklaces that I got from the thrift store eons ago and with a little bit of fabric, it is completely different and much more pizazzy! Now I just need to make Ben take me out on a date so I can wear it or I guess I could just wear it around the house for fun. Either way, this necklace is a pretty little project for yourself or as a gift! Don’t you think?

You are a clever girl!! And very pretty– make that man take you out!! ;P
LOVE THIS. I have been wanting to make something like this for ages. i LOVE FABRIC NECKLACES or not necessarily all fabric but ne thing with differing textures. I got a furry fabric bead necklace from Miss Hoe which I adore. It is green themed. I want a fabric necklace for every day of the week. ^_^
Like the denim pairing. Balances nicely. Have a great weekend.
omg youre genius.
wonderful idea. I just saw something similar–only they used a tie! My husband's father passed away of cancer last year and had quite the tie collection. He was kind of known for his ties and we were given a few of them. I made a couple of bow-ties for my little guy and plan on using one of them to make my mother-in-law a necklace for mother's day.
thanks for the idea– I think some extra fabric that I have laying around is going to be quickly used up now : )

I'm unable to comment using my Typepad account or the OpenID option. Is anyone else having trouble? I used to be able to until the past couple of months.
Beautiful!!

I love this! I'm going to do this to the necklace I wore at my wedding. I love it, but not many occasions call for pearls
