gilded ceramic pot

February 25, 2016

Gilded Ceramic Pot

Supplies:
Ceramic pot
Gilding sheets
Thin paintbrush
Gilding adhesive
Gloves
Bristle brush

Directions:
1. Make sure ceramic is clean and ready to be gilded. Paint on design with the gilding adhesive glue. Allow it to air dry until surface is tacky.
2. Lay the gilding sheet on the surface. Press and rub gently onto adhesive. Allow to dry completely.
3. With bristle brush, brush over to remove the excess gilding.

Now that I’ve tried my hand at gilding, I want to add a bit of gold on other pots.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

So thankful our home is finally cold free. I am so glad everyone is well again!

I’m slowly getting back to my early wake-up calls. Woot!

I want to make a quinoa beet burger.

This art nouveau ring is gorgeous.

Picked up the Oh Joy neon light. Just need to find a place to hang it.

Tried these flare overalls on and the fabric felt way too stretchy. I wish it was all cotton.

I think this is one of the best parenting book. It goes against all you know and do, but really teaches you how to lavish your children with grace. #givethemgrace

Natural fabric dyeing class … I am definitely going to take this!

I watched The Price of Gold documentary about Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding. It really makes you feel for Tonya.

“In Defense of Date Night” is a good article to read. Ben and I don’t go out for our weekly date nights, rather, it takes place every Friday night on our bedroom floor and we have homemade sushi for dinner, then watch a movie. It’s a wonderful time to reconnect and chill together. I do love going out for dates too, but we typically go all out about once or twice or year to try some nice restaurant, and we enjoy doing splurges like that, and then having our simple date nights the rest of the time.

Happy weekending friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Once winter came along, I stopped my waking up early routine. I’m going to go back to it this week; I really miss my quiet mornings.

My sister and I worked on some more videos. Can’t wait to share them with you! Folloy my YouTube channel here!

I need to throw a party that would match this paper jungle garland.

Repainting a thrift store canvas is genius. I need to pick one up next time I go.

I want to sew a dress shaped like this for the girls.

I like the natural look of these woven sandals.

Even though this denim shift dress is for kids, I’d totally wear it.

These are the most adorable barrettes I have ever seen!

It’s been a weird couple of weeks trying to get a new schedule down. It’s made me feel a little out of sorts. I’m thankful for changes though, I can’t wait to see how God grows us through it.

Some of my babes have been sick this week. Thankfully, all is well now and we are ready for our Valentine’s Day celebrations. We have neighbors coming over later and then tomorrow afternoon we celebrate again with some friends.

Enjoy this Valentine’s weekend with your loves!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Most of the Marais USA shoes are on super sale. Love the Arc Wedge!

Kindness is indeed magic… such a sweet tee.

I want to throw a party that looks like this!

I’m getting a head start on spring cleaning here. Anyone wear a size 6/36 shoe? I’m selling these Swedish Hasbeens. I’ve sold a couple things already, but have some things left.

If you’re in the Redlands area, I will be hosting a Valentine craft event at Kissui this Tuesday from 10:30-12pm. Bring your kids and let’s make a couple Valentine’s Day crafts together!

My friend is selling a whole slew of vintage goodies (perfect for wedding stuff), and an antique couch, and a 1940’s bike. If you’re local, check out her craigslist listing here.

Another friend told me about this app Deadringer, and I can’t wait to try it out next time I’m in a new city. It gives suggestions on where to eat and shop based on your style and preferences. We are planning out a road trip soon, so I will put this app to good use.

What an adorable cropped jumpsuit! Wish it came in my size.

I want to sew the girls some bell bottoms. I need to pick up more denim fabric soon.

Thankful for my sweet girls and how they teach me love, grace, and gospel. They continuously point me to Jesus.

Happy weekending everyone!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

The girls are doing so well with fractions. You know math isn’t our favorite, but this week things seemed to be clicking. *happy dance*

These rainbow blocks (seen above) have been getting so much play! Building toys are a favorite in our home.

Eyeing this market basket, or this one; I love using baskets as purses.

What a genius pom pom tutorial?

Heart eyes for this pretty, striped, cotton dress (on sale!).

Such fun and simple party decor.

Chorizo and garlic shrimp burger, get in my belly!

I want to take the macrame plant hanging class.

Wish we had a large tree to hang the swurfer swing. I think my girls would really like this.

We spent yesterday in the snow, and now I’m ready to spend the rest of Sunday in bed watching the Spurs game and a movie with my family. Enjoy the rest of the weekend internet friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Glow is such a hoot. She says the funniest things. I’m thankful for all the silly things these girls do.

These seats look like it would make a great reading cushion for the girls. I’ll put it on the to do list.

I love this vintage, fuzzy sweater from Ms. Tips. It reminds me of the one I have, but mine isn’t vintage.

Pom pom fruit? My girls would have a blast making these.

Have you been to Target lately?! Oh man, so many pretty things. There were a couple pillows I almost walked out with (this and this), but resisted. This mirror is fabulous, reminds me of the French vintage ones I’ve been wanting to get.

Ben and I have started discussing vacations this year. We take lots of mini ones throughout the year, usually for each person’s birthday, but we want to do a major road trip with the kids, and possibly something out of the country for just the two of us.

We started Life of Fred math this week for Soul, and I really like it. The girls do too! Any of you use that curriculum? If so, I have a couple questions for you. If you don’t mind me asking, please leave me a comment, and I will email you.

Our backyard is really coming along. I love how cozy it feels back there, especially with my Christmas present. I’ll admit though, a lot of work and upkeep goes on to having an edible garden, but it’s worth it. It’s such a satisfying feeling to pick fruit (herbs and vegetables too!) from your own backyard.

My heart has been weary for the last month and I haven’t wanted to spend much time in reading the Word because I was frustrated with a specific trial. I finally started again this week and what life it brings! It speaks light and joy into my heart. Though I know it’s what I need every day of my life, I still don’t value it as I ought.

Thanks for tuning in to hear another list of my ramblings friends! Enjoy your weekend!!! xoxo
