Everyone had such wonderful ideas that I agonized over which 3 to pick (I am still debating on which 3 as I type this)… Ben couldn’t pick either! So True had to do it (well, she helped just a little like posing for the picture)…
Here are your three options:
1. Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh (from Laura)
2. Woodland… gnomes, toadstools and a deer (from Angela)
3. Octopus… tentacles dangling, shells, seaweed (from Rust and Roses)

It really was so hard to narrow it down, but I have to share my other favorites that almost made it:
– Parisian theme, whom had a few idea contributors, which also made it hard to pick this one, but I would so love to do this crown! I am thinking I might, so that my girls will have a new one sitting on their shelf.
– Frida Kahlo inspired crown (from Miko Design).
– Third Eye… this would have funny (from Amy).
Oh and there were so many more! Really, the list could go on…

octopus crown, all the way! :O) having two boys definitely influences me!!! but i love how you described it with the tentacles intermixing with seashells and whatnot. it could be so pretty – or so boyish, depending on your interpretation!

I like the starry starry nite motif, it’s classy and challenging, and my kids wouldn’t be swinging tentacles and toadstools all over the b-day cake 😉 Texture layers of embroidery will appear somewhat like the oil on canvas and if my little girls ever see the real one-or even a copy-they will definately know that they have seen it before.

Hi there! All three deserve recognition, but I envision the starry night crown coming out best. That’s my vote. Plus, it would be a great all-around celebratory crown for almost any occasion.

your sister richelle is totally right. you are absolutely a celebrity in my book :O) you should hear me talk about you when people ask about any of eleanor’s many cakies. it goes something like this:
stranger i meet at the supermarket/target/disneyland/park/insert any place here: “oh my gosh. she is so sweet! how adorable she is with that little bow/flower (this part depends on the outfit) in her hair! how in the world do you keep it in her hair? did you make that?”
first i smile and then chuckle a bit (i’ve heard this about 500 times now – and i love it!) and then i say something along these lines:
“why thank you very much. yes, she is the sweetest, isn’t she??? and her hair clip is made by my good friend ruby (wink!) who makes the most amazing things. (at this point i rattle off “crowns, dolls, clutches – and anything else i beg you to attempt on my daughter’s behalf!) if you are interested in ordering something from her i can give you her website address…” etc.
and everyone walks away very happy.
