winter is long gone

April 16, 2009

And taxes are over… whew!
I am a cold weather person. I think I would do well living in San Francisco as the grey suits me, not that I am a sad person, but I just love it grey outside. It makes me happy and cozy on the inside. When I lived in London, I loved it. The grey everyday was wonderful. That really was my cup of tea! Therefore, next winter when the grey and cold hit southern California (crossing my fingers), we will be ready…
true's next winter coat
True has her new vintage coat that I found for her on etsy (it was a tad big this winter). I love the plaid and the bushy little collar. Makes me wish we lived somewhere where she would have to wear it more often!
winter little jacket
Then, I have my cute little vintage jacket (love the faux fur collar too!) that I found at a thrift store in downtown Ventura when Ben and I had a date. It fits me nicely. Now, to find things to wear it with. Good thing I don’t have to worry about that for awhile…
Don’t get me wrong, I am loving the Spring, though I prefer the fall or winter (but I guess if you are stuck in a season for a long time, you wish for the next to come). Though, not sure if I like the allergies that come with this new season. Hopefully, this congestion will go away soon.
I hope all is well with you friends and you are enjoying your change of season wherever you are… have a fantastic day today. Like I said, I am so glad taxes are done!

oh my gosh that plaid coat is to die for. i can’t say i’m with you on the gray days, but i live in florida, and i CAN say that there aren’t enough of those chilly days to wear stuff this spectacular!

so, can you link to the shop where you bought the coat? i have a 7-year-old girl and i would only dream of finding something this great for her…

Is it not super windy where you guys are? It’s nice except for a really cold wind that feels like it just blows through you (okay, it’s not Chicago wind, but still very cold). We could have totally worn those jackets yesterday up here.

  • I like cozy evenings too! Fall is my favorite… though I think I will take the sunny fall days. But you know, I was thinking we’re both November girls… don’t you love the grey skies in November? Plus the holidays are coming and there’s excitement in the air!! I just found a jacket on sale at Anthropologie too… but it’s supposed to be for fall/winter. I might just put it on anyways!!

You should move to La Jolla! It is chilly (well, breezy) enough quite often to wear both of those coats here :O) Trust me. I see people walking around in parkas and scarves all of the time. My Maryland friends would be giggling and pointing if they saw. And my Michigan friends would probably die laughing. But, hey. So that is the solution. The air is so much clearer here, too, Ruby!

Here we don’t have much seasonal changes… Summer is HOT, some times rainy. Autumn is windy, winter is chilly (but never lower than 70°F), spring is as hot as summer, with less rainy days. This is my favourite one! =)

I NEVER get to wear pretty coats like yours and True’s…

But it’s ok, I love the sun!
Specially when I wake up to a perfect blue sky like like today’s!!

    Kisess from Brazil!
