This was always one of my favorite memories with my kids… and I have a picture of the two of them when they were toddlers sitting next to each other on giant pumpkins! Your pictures are really, really cute!
yes, bethany! we look forward to pumpkin patches too. something about it is so sweet and the kids love all the color and running around. you have to post the picture of caroline and nathaniel!
I love reading about your beautiful little family and I adore your decorating style. Strange question but pretty please can you tell me where you got those lovely red sandals – I would like to hunt them across the ocean for my 5 year old daughter.
Hello Australia! 😉 Thank you so much. You are so sweet. True’s sandals are called Saltwater Sandals and you would love them! They comes in lots of colors and also for adults. They are very, very comfortable. Here are some links:
Hello from Australia again thanks so much for the Saltwater Sandal details – I think I am going to have to order them in red and yellow. True’s room looks great and it is wonderful to read that you were inspired by Inside Out magazine – it’s a great mag. Have a lovely weekend.

About Cakies
From crafts to parenting & everything else in between. Cakies celebrates family, style, abounding grace, and living life creatively.
Last week has been special because Ben's mom and sister were in town (they haven't been here in a few years), so we were relishing our time together. There was a lot of special grandmama time with the girls, and a lot of sister bonding time between Ben's sister and me. We saw them in Texas this past Christmas, but it's been awhile since they've been on our turf, so we are having fun hosting and cooking them some of our favorite foods. If you know us, well, more the girls and me (not Ben), the first thing on the agenda was take them to our favorite ice cream place, A la Minute. His mom and sister agreed that their ice cream is pretty terrific and the best they both ever had. There wasn't much on our agenda during their stay except spend quality time together. We did have plans to go to the Lavender Festival, but Ben's mom and sister got sick the last two days, so we had to scrap that idea. Thankfully, the festival will be going on next weekend, so Ben and I are hoping we can still take the two little ones. It was a fast 5 days with them and we look forward to seeing them again in July when they come back to drop off the big girls.
