MONDAY

April 3, 2012

mondaymondaymondaymondaymonday
Today was filled with errand running, phone calls with possible contractors, and lots of kid drawings. The highlight of the day was finding the vintage lighting that has been on my want list for, like, ever. We couldn’t bring it home with us today, but we will next week. So excited about that! Then, I just need to bug my dad to come over and install it over our dining table and we will be all set. Another plus was that same shop also yielded another globe to add to my collection.
There were a few frustrations today (not kid related), but having Ben around all day long makes things a lot better. After I cried, he went downstairs to get me cookies. Yes, cookies can really make things feel a bit better.
Let’s hope tomorrow I actually get some cleaning done. What was your Monday like?

April things that make us giddy…
– All the house fixing upping that will be going on. Over the moon excited!
– Being with Ben everyday.
– Some planned get togethers with friends.
– Days outside in the garden.
– Celebrating Resurrection Sunday!
– Running my first 5k ever and doing it the most colorful way possible!
– My biggest baby turns 6!
What things are you looking forward to this month?

HUZZAH!

March 31, 2012

friday!
Ben will be stuck with his five girls everyday, all day for one whole month! We are a whole bunch excited over here about that. We have a long list of house to-dos and I can finally get caught up on some things too. We also want to spend some time serving and fellowshipping with others too. I know this time will fly by, but we are going to try to be smart with it while we got it.
This week’s learned and links…
– We did not win the lottery.
– Glow is on all fours, rocking back and forth. The move forward should be coming any day now.
– True is kind of a manipulator and cons Brave into giving her things she wants.
– Wearing these sunglasses and Ben is kinda jealous cause they’re too rad.
– The girls are all about their ginormous bows courtesy of much love, illy.
– Soul has been extra clingy to me lately and only wants me to put her to bed.
– Met with one of the gals from our church family and thankful for grace in confessing struggles with one another.
– Wishing these will be in my Easter basket because they are just too fun!
This sofa on craigslist in Los Angeles is way cute! Someone get it!
– Might make some sort of Easter in a box for my girlies. I think they would love it!
I am pretty excited about the things that will be happening this weekend and the next few weeks. The house will be undergoing a slight transformation and I get to bug Ben all day long. I am totally stuck on him like glue! Enjoy your weekend friends!!!

Or if your kids just needed an extra little something for some imagination game they were playing… well, here you go too! Either way, this little DIY is sure to add a little pop of color somewhere!

FAMILY MEALS: WEEK ELEVEN

March 29, 2012

With the busyness of taking care of some house stuff, this week’s meals were easy and familiar to me meals. I didn’t try anything new and stuck with some favorites.
Tuesday we had Chicken Piccata
family meals
This time I added arugula to it, but we loved it just as much as the first time.
Wednesday, we had Hand-roll Sushi…
family meals
This we learned from my BFF when she and her husband brought it over for us once. It is seriously the best stuff ever. We don’t give the girls raw sushi yet, so we had imitation crab for them to make their own rolls. I could eat this stuff all the time!
Week 4/2 – 4/6
Thursday: Leftovers
Friday: Pizza
We have enough leftovers from this week’s cooked meals to work for tonight and tomorrow. If you haven’t tried meal planning, I definitely recommend it though it does take work to actually get planning. Once you do, you will be so glad! It really helps us enjoy our evenings together a whole lot more!

FUNNY, SWEET, AND RUDE

March 28, 2012

days
For the past few days, I have had I one aching left shoulder and one burning left ear, which causes me to lose sleep at night. I swore I had an ear infection and actually went to the doctor last night to get it checked, and I rarely go to the doctor for something like that for myself, so that should tell you how bad it is bothering me. Well, the doctor tells me I have no ear infection and I just have a stress-induced ear ache. What?!!
Days go so fast and I really feel crazy most of the time, but lots of sweet things happen during the day and I try to savor it. I don’t always, but I try. I am especially enjoying looking through all the drawings they make, they can sit for hours drawing and the result is always marvelous. I am kind of biased though.
Another sweet moment is when True and I were working on some writing and reading and all of a sudden Brave snuck up and started playing My Little Pony with her. It kinda drove me nuts that Brave interrupted, but it was sweet to see Brave wanting to be with True and they’re really cute to watch when playing with their My Little Ponies! Those little ponies are the “it” toy of the house for the current moment.

The other day True said, “Mom, I’m the funniest. Brave is the sweetest. And Soul is the rudest.”
That made me laugh really hard, but it’s kind of true. Makes me wonder what Glow will be like…
