work in progressThis week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

I was thankful for some silence this week, but missed the girls like crazy, so we are so happy they are home now! We love hearing about all the memories they made with their Grammy and Grumpy. They were totally spoiled by them!

My felt floral creations made for the Misha Lulu Art Show are now available for purchase here.

Love chowing down on these delicious bars. It’s kind of like the Toms of food bars; you buy a bar, and they give food to a child in need.

My girls would love these doodle books. Christmas is still pretty far, but I’m thinking that they might make good stocking stuffers.

The shibori dyeing classes held at the Bloesem shop looked amazing. I love the whole Bloesem team and love watching everything they are doing from my part of the world. This class coming up looks amazing.

Thankful for some coming changes as uncomfortable as they might be.

This bag from Ms. Tips is awesome!

Thankful that after 6 days are insane temperatures, things cooled down a little.

So happy to have been able to meet Erika from Miko Design this week (she was visiting from Holland). We’ve been following each other’s blogs for several years now, and it’s so nice to actually be able to meet in person.

We have Halloween costumes figured out. Now, just gotta make them… oy!

My weekend posts have totally been off these past few weeks, but hopefully I’ll get back in the rhythm again.

jackpot!This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

I’m so thankful for one week of school down and many more to go. We celebrated their first day with a family dinner at John’s Incredible Pizza. It’s been a tradition of ours to go for the past couple years.

This encouragement about living an “unrushed life” really spoke wonders to my heart.

Our front porch has been so messy all summer long, and I finally got to cleaning it up. I was totally inspired by this pin.

I love peanut butter and pretzels mixed together, so this look especially delicious.

Love this pretty vintage coach bag from Ms. Tips.

I want to make cute duct tape pencil holders.

Crystal Lewis did this post on “Learning to Let Go” as she prepares to move her daughter to another state. It makes my heart ache imagining the day we will have to do this for one of  our daughters. I love how Crystal calls her daughter-in-law, her “daughter-in-love,” I think it helps bring a special sweetness to the in-law relationship.

Saturday is here and that means that the girls are working on Saturday morning chores and Ben is out in the garden. Ben’s been sick all week, so while we had plans to go fruit picking this weekend, I think we will mostly be home relaxing and doing house things. I really want to make that pretzel peanut butter thing too. Happy weekend friends!!!

plant bathThis week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful for a few quieter days earlier in the week, which allowed me to listen to a lot of sermons. It was something my heart needed badly.

This avocado on toast looks delicious.

Another encouraging post for my way too busy heart.

We’ve had a couple parenting trials come this week and it really helped wake us up at how “sloppy” we were starting to get, but I’m thankful for how God worked in True and Brave’s hearts (and ours).

Summer was great! Not quite ready to get back into the grind of homeschooling, but very eager to get a consistent routine down.

Jean Jean Vintage always has the best vintage rings and I’m frequently sending Ben links just in case he needs some ideas for something in the future. HA!

Ben’s working on making more garden beds. Man, these backyard projects never end.

Happy weekend friends!

craft event in redlands!

August 21, 2014

If you’re in Redlands (or nearby), I’d love to meet you at a craft event I’m hosting at Kissui in Downtown Redlands. I will be doing a couple of the no-sew projects from my book Let’s Sew Together, there will snacks, and of course you can do some shopping! After your craft making, I also highly recommend taking a stroll around the corner and get ice cream from my most favorite place a la Minute. I hope to see some of you there!

flyThis week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Soul folded her first full basket of laundry! Yay!!!

Bought all our homeschooling curriculum for this year.

The big three slept over the BFF’s house this week and I’m so thankful for some quiet time with the baby. It’s nice to give her some one on one attention, and I also get a lot done during her nap times.

Last Sunday’s sermon at our church family gathering about prayer really spoke to my heart. I suck at prayer. Can listen to it here (the one on Aug. 10).

I want to make these metallic gem pouches.

Lotta From Stockholm is hosting a contest on instagram for a pair of clogs!  See here for the simple details.

I love these SALU necklaces by Zara. Shop the collection here.

I’ll be in Redlands next Saturday hosting a craft event for kids, so if you’re in the area, nearby, or just want to make a trek out there, it would be fun to meet you! See here for more details. My favorite ice cream place is around the corner, so come and craft and head there to try the bestest ice cream ever!

Thank you for all your feedback last week. I’ll be working on those, and it really does help to know your thoughts and suggestions. I truly appreciate it friends!

pool daysThis week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful that the girls can entertain themselves while I get house things done, and Netflix (and the iPad) comes in handy sometimes too.

This will probably surprise you, but Glow still naps twice a day. It’s insane! She will still sleep and if doesn’t get her naps, she is one cranky girl.

We had all my old youth leaders (and their families) over for dinner this week. I loved seeing my girls having fun with all their kids. It was crazy loud in our house.

These sandwiches look delicious.

I’ve had major headaches lately, so I’m thankful for chocolate ice cream because they really help get rid of them! One afternoon this past week, Soul came up to me and said, “I have a headache.” I said, “If I kiss it, will it feel better?” She said, “No.” I said, “What do you want then?” Then, she gave me that sly smile. I realized what that sly smile meant and I started laughing to myself because she wanted ice cream. HA!

I’m pretty good about getting blog posts up even while we’re away, but it was nice to keep it quiet here earlier in the week.

Finally watched Divergent! Books are always better, but I think the translation was still pretty good.

This space has been such a good spot to share my heart, things we’re making (and sometimes wearing), recipes, stories, pictures, and just a whole bunch of other things. I wanted to know from you, is there anything you particularly want me to share more of? I really would love to know, and I’m always thankful for the time you take to visit this space! xoxo
