WORDS WEDNESDAY

March 18, 2020

I’ve started an #easyartaday series on instagram (follow me here) to spark some creativity during this stressful time and to give ideas to parents who suddenly find themselves joining us in the homeschooling world.

Today’s WORDS WEDNESDAY is a coloring page for “KEEP CALM AND (fill in the blank)” or “KEEP CALM AND WASH YOUR HANDS.” It’s kind of the mantra I’ve been reminding myself with when this whole thing started, along with “KEEP CALM AND TRUST GOD.”

Fill it in, color it, decorate it, and share it with the rest of us on Instagram! Let’s send some words of encouragement to each other today! I know we must all need it right now.

To color and make your own little poster, just download and print the documents below…

KEEP CALM color sheet

KEEP CALM black and white sheet

KEEP CALM blank sheet

If you don’t have access to a printer, feel free to make your own and share it with the rest of us! Always happy to have you share the project, just don’t forget to tag and credit please.

When you’re done with your sign, take a photo and share it on social media and tag me because I’d love to share all the encouraging messages back out into the world. And tag it #easyartaday, so we can keep all the artwork together and get inspired by one another. Then, put the sign up somewhere in your home for all to see during this turbulent season.

KEEP CALM AND WASH YOUR HANDS, friends! And I’ll also be (prayerfully trying) to KEEP CALM AND TRUST IN GOD.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

So thankful to have knocked out a lot from my to-do lists this week. I have 2 major projects to finish up before I feel a little relaxed, but otherwise, I feel so much better. Earlier in the week, I was panicked at how behind I was on specific projects.

Praise God for friends. Seriously. I’m so thankful to have some really good ones. And then don’t even get me started on our parents… Ben and I have the best.

I learned it’s better to do the hard uncomfortable thing because God will grow you through it.

Busted out my sewing machine this week and made something really sweet. Can’t wait to show you guys!

If you were a 6.5 shoe, this pair of cowboy boots is so cool.

Toddler parents… this circus outfit would be so cute for Halloween. A quirky clown costume or something.

My BFF’s adoption day is in less than a week. This is such a big deal and something I’ve been praying and waiting for for a long time. All the praise hands! I will be crying so many happy tears next Friday!

And as you can see above, my husband got younger! What a difference a shave makes! I was the one that requested the beard, and while I love it, after 11 months, I started missing his face. So happy to have it back!

I got 3 posts up this week! What?!! Do you want more chatty life posts or craft stuff?

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Excited to welcome fall, but the picture above says we’re holding onto summer for as long as we can.

Glow is reading book books! I think now that she’s discovered she could, it’s starting to ignite a love for reading.

My heart was so thankful to be able to get in a girls’ night out with some of my church sisters. I needed that time with them and the drive alone was good thinking on God time.

Everlane has just released the new cigarette jean. I’m thinking about it, especially with that 11″ rise. I love a good high rise, though my ideal would be 12″ or 13″, but Everlane’s stuff are always so good. Have you seen their new shoes? Love the extra high day heel and the square toe slingback.

Getting back into the Wovenfolk groove and updated the shop today! Wovenfolk is an outpour of my love for treasure hunting for vintage and the desire to give old things new life.

How fun is this image and painting?!

Spoke too soon about heatwaves being over because we are about to go back up to the high 90s this week. Oye! At least it will be nice and warm when the girls go swimming.

Thankful my mom finally had surgery to remove a large cyst and that’s it’s not cancerous! Praise the Lord!

The girls and I have spent some time thrifting this week and I think we have most things for their Halloween costumes. There are a few things here and there we need to make or buy somewhere, but we’re getting there. My goal was to have it all done by October, so that might just happen.

Looking for some mom jeans and have a 26″ waist? Love this pair from Ms. Tips!

Ben’s got a man cold this weekend, so we’re hoping it gets kicked to the curb soon because the house (or maybe it’s just me) is definitely off kilter when he’s not feeling well.

Happy fall, friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful for our baby kid turning 7 and the blessing she is in our lives!

So grateful for each homeschool week. We are having fun with all the new stuff we’re learning this year so far.

Started the Halloween costume planning! Hoping to be done with everyone’s costumes before October. We need to go thrifting to find more pieces.

Finished The Scars That Have Shaped Me and can’t wait to share how it effected my heart.

I love watching shows on my ipad at night to relax, but I been refraining this week and it’s been good for my head and heart to just dig in a book that helps encouraged my soul.

This gnome and mushroom costume is super sweet!

I made an ice cream cake for Glow’s birthday and I must say it turned out really delicious. I will make another to share a recipe here.

Watched To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before last weekend, and while I’m not a rom-com gal, I really did enjoy this teen movie. It’s so sweet.

We’re still celebrating Glow this weekend and I plan to go to the Long Beach flea market on Sunday! Happy weekending, folks!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

We were in the full swing of homeschool this week and it felt good!

The girls and I cherish our Wednesday night dinners with my parents. We get in family time, a delicious home cooked meal, I Love Lucy, and sent home with more food. This time is such needed for my heart, especially in this season. We are so thankful for my parents!

Wovenfolk has been neglected for the past month due to family things, but things should calm down a bit, and I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things for fall.

Love this pretty brass choker.

Vintage French workwear is so cool and I’ve been eyeing some from Rawson.

We’ve had fun semi-redecorating the girls rooms in the room switch we did. I will be sure to share soon!

My friends and I have all been going through rough seasons, but I’m so thankful we have each other. Ben and I are so thankful to have friends and family to share things with. If you’re going through a hard season too, and need a friend, send me an email, I’d love to be a listening ear.

Still can’t believe we’re nearing mid-Septemeber. I don’t feel fall vibes because it’s still so warm, but it’s coming. I can’t wait for all the holiday things with family.

And Glow turns 7 this week! WHUUTTTT!

It’s good to have HUZZAH post back up! What have you been up to this week?

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Sewing 4 costumes in one week is no joke. Thankful we finished them up all in time for their Disney Day date with Ben’s cousins yesterday!

Thankful for Sunday afternoon hang out with cousin-friends. It had been too long since we’ve been at the BFF’s house.

My heart needed that reminder during Sunday morning’s sermon that suffering always has a purpose, and through it we taste and see God’s goodness.

The temperature this coming weekend is gonna spike up to 112 where we live, so we’ve spent the weekend prepping our plants. We are praying they’ll be okay.

Looking for a reasonably priced vertical shelf for True and Brave’s room. They are such big readers and book collectors, so we need more shelves. Maybe this one, but I wish it were white.

Basket bags make my heart flutter and love this one from Ms. Tips. Also, love retro plastic shoppers and this one is so fun.

Reading the “Seven Strategies for Fighting Envy helped reframe my heart for when feelings of envy come up.

Ben and I are headed to Texas this week to take care of some family things. We also celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary next weekend, so we’re hoping to get an Austin date day in.

Anyone still check in to see if blogs update daily? Our lives have been busier this past year than ever before and so my daily updates in this space have been sporadic. This journal is still alive and kicking (maybe small kicks), and I’m thankful for those of you that still check in to see what I’m raving and ranting about. I made a list of things I want to blog about this summer, so once time allows, I want to get back a more regular rhythm of sharing.
