ME AND BIG BABY

This little girl will be turning 2 in December and still doesn’t speak (she has almost 10 clearly said words, but other than that it’s jibberish), but oh can she shriek! Feisty is one word that describes her, but I guess you have to be if you have two older sisters who kinda push you around. This big baby of mine is also obsessed with shoes and fixing her hair. I have a feeling we are in big trouble when all these girls are teenagers together!

My go to outfit of late have been jeans and ankle boots. Though they have a heel, they really are so comfy. I don’t really get out of the house much but when I do, these shoes are what go on my feet. Love them! These (or these) Rachel Comey ones are my dream ones and this DV ones come in second (ahem, birthday fairy!). Okay, seriously, those are way out of budget, but I can dream right?!

on me: shirt, can’t remember. vest, vintage thrifted. belt, thrifted. jeans, f21. boots, markis boot by report.
on soul: vintage romper, ms. tips. moccasins, freshly picked.
Things have been busy here because baby sister and I have been planning middle sister’s bridal shower coming up in a couple weeks. Also, I have been trying to get things ready for Halloween on top of doing homeschool, cooking (I cooked twice this week!), and trying to keep my head above water with 4 kids. That’s the theme of the everyday over here, keep your head above water and try not to sink. What’s the theme for you lately?
p.s. I have a special giveaway coming later tonight!

OUT TO SCHOOL: WEEK EIGHT

Thank you for all your advice from last week. Actually, I am not one of those moms who linger and make her not want to leave me. I don’t want to linger for that exact reason and I always try to make the quickest drop off, but it is True that won’t let go of my leg the moment we leave the car to walk her to the room. Another reason I like a quick drop off is because as much as we miss True, her school days give me a bit of a break with having to care for only 3 kids at home and there isn’t really any fighting when True is not there (True and Brave fight a lot!), so I try to make it quick so that I can go home and get things done and breathe easier with just three! Three is much easier than four.
This week did go better though. Immediately, she didn’t want to leave me, but I walked up to her teacher said hi, then he proceeded to tell her where to put her stuff, and I just walked away to leave. I think she gets shy having to walk from the door to her desk by herself, but when I walked her in and to the teacher, it was easier for me to leave her. Later, when we picked her up, she was beaming ear to ear telling me how much fun she had. We will see what happens next week, but I think we should definitely get that Kissing Hand book anyways. It sounds real sweet!
p.s. this is my last rosy posy clip and girl crown and i really don’t have plans to make more. grab it before it is gone!

PAINTING TEENY SELVES

Yesterday’s art project was painting little versions of themselves onto wooden dolls. All we needed was little wooden figures, paint, toothpicks for eyes and fine details, some paint brushes and this cutesy little project got my girls real giddy. They were taking so much time and care in making themselves that I went ahead and completed the collection with little ones of Soul and Glow. This little versions of them will be perfect for playing in their dollhouse and for our Halloween decorating because their little selves also became little ghosts! And these are definitely the friendliest ghosts around!
A little crafting with the girls is always fun. They love it and so do I!

SEASONAL MAKINGS

I saw this craft project over at Bloesem Kids and knew it would be a fun little project to do with the girls. We don’t get too crazy decorating for Halloween, but I wanted to have a little spooky-ish touches here and there, so I remembered that little project and we made our own. I didn’t follow the instructions because I just went off memory (it is a fairly simple idea). Now that I am reading the directions, what I did differently was that I connected the pipe cleaners into a really long one, wrapped the yarn, and then shaped the word. I am sure either way works just fine. Though the way we did it, we could easily unravel the word to make a new one, which I kinda like.

Okay, so our sign isn’t quite spooky, but I thought it was just the right little thing to get festive and still remain stylish and match our home. Orange and black doesn’t really match us. We have a few more little things to craft up today to add a few more scary touches here and there, as well as make a pretty Autumnal wreath.

How do you decorate for the Autumn and Halloween?

– Trying to be intentional and ask myself “How am I glorifying God as I…?” constantly throughout the day.
I know you all have been having lots of questions of late, from what baby names we might have used to type of swaddling blanket, so if you had something you wanted to ask me, ask away! I will try to answer your questions in another post soon. Look here for some previously asked questions and answers.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
