This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

While it is scorching hot, I’m thankful that the weather is refining my heart to be thankful even when it’s not my preferred temperature.

I discovered how much Glow loves to paint. She draws almost every day, so I guess it should be no surprise, but she also really enjoys working with acrylics.

It’s been a much more chill week because of the heat and I haven’t been feeling well. I guess my body needed some rest, so I’m thankful that we were able to slow down a bit this week.

WOVENFOLK is in need of an update, but homeschooling mom and craft styling gigs have taken up most of my day. This week though, I’m hoping to get some new things up in the shop.

Love this robe dress. I’m keeping my eye out at the thrift for a similar cut.

Check out these beautiful pieces by Avilla Jewelry. My ears would love those earrings!

Have you started Christmas shopping? I’m thinking about getting True and Brave these pens because they’ve been getting into brush lettering.

An embroidered tiger rug?! Yes! Would look so fun in a kid room. I’d love this or this to replace my jute rug in our family room.

Some friends from church started a podcast called Kinship. Check it out if you want to hear real women sharing things from their heart, and how it all goes back to the gospel.

I can’t believe it’s pretty much  November! My birthday is coming up and I can’t wait to lie in bed and do nothing. LOL But first Halloween, and the girls are really excited to go trick-or-treating on Tuesday.

Happy weekending, friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

This week was super busy, well, it feels like every week is like that. I have no idea how I used to blog so much. Lately, there’s just no time.

Thankful I got a good cleaning session in this weekend. The house needed it. The girls do a good job, but I needed to go in and get to every nook and cranny they don’t see.

My skin feels great and my eczema is gone… so thankful! I’d been battling these two eczema spots on my face for almost a year and it’s finally all clear (this was magic). I don’t mind the uneven skin tone it leaves, but it was the itchiness that was so bothersome, and now that’s gone. Also, my skin is smooth again. No more dry spots!

We’re finally moving forward on our front yard garden. Can’t wait to show you once this next phase is done.

Love the mock neck tees on Everlane.

I’m not sure I like this last season of Scandal; I miss Olivia as a gladiator.

True would love this skirt. Maybe I’ll make her one in that style.

The girls have written out their Christmas lists. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? I can’t believe it’s that time of year already.

Happy Sunday, folks!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

I’m thankful for community and the people I live life with. No good ever comes from too much isolation.

Thankful for all the little lessons the girls and I learn from daily. There are lots of fights, misunderstandings, expectations that happen throughout the day, and we have to learn to deal with each other, as well as forgive.

The girls and I have been listening to the heroes of the Reformation podcast “Here We Stand” via Desiring God.

Looking for a denim duster for fall? I really like this vintage one.

So the eczema on my skin was doing better with essential oils and this probiotic moisturizer, but then last week (while in Dallas), it started to act up again. UGH! Now, trying this topical treatment. Within a day, I can already tell it’s working wonders. Hoping and praying this continues to work. Sometimes, my skin is so itchy that I want to claw at it.

I need a reasonably priced yellow child raincoat (size 8-10) for a Halloween costume. Anyone have any suggestions on where to find one?

WOVENFOLK is now offering free shipping to all USA orders over $50.

Made these butternut squash fries this week and it came out delicious.

It’s been a whirlwind week and I’m thankful for new mercies and grace every morning. My heart has been heavy due to the Las Vegas shooting. Another reminder that life is short and you just never know what will happen. Also, Ben’s aunt passed away this week, so he left for Texas on Friday morning. All this has had my mind pondering on the brevity of life, and that with each new day, we are one day closer to death (not in a pessimistic way, but in a urgent realistic way). There’s so much dumb stuff I  get caught up in that when viewed in the light of eternity and death, those things don’t matter, and I’m not redeeming my time wisely. Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Even through my failing of this verse, I know I can still come to Christ because He is my righteousness.

Also, Harry Potter birthday post coming on Monday. Promise.

See you here on Monday!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Super thankful to Michaels for sending me on a little craftcation to the Pinners Conference.

Grateful for Ben and my parents who took care of things while I skipped town a bit.

I enjoy watching how the girls’ style evolves (like Soulie in the picture above). They’re homeschooled, so they don’t know the trends that are popular with kids, and they kind of do their own thing. I love it!

Thankful for some spontaneity left in me. Most of it disappeared when I had kids, but last night showed it was still there. I’m still a planner at heart though.

Sweet vintage dress on sale from Ms. Tips.

Fair Season Vintage always stocked with the coolest things like this vintage field jacket.

So excited for my best friend and her husband. It’s something I’ve been praying about for years.

Times to get ready for Halloween. We have most things needed for their costumes, but now I have to start tweaking them. Can you believe it’s October?!

I’m looking for good organic masa, anyone try this one?

Excited to get home and try some of the new things I learned at the conference. I think the girls will really enjoy learning about brush lettering. I can’t wait to teach them!

Happy Sunday!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful to have 3 big projects and the baby shower under my belt. I’ve been quite busy that I haven’t had time to update here. I don’t know how I use to blog so frequently before as there isn’t much time now. I miss writing here.

One month of school is done! It’s been going well, but our days are quite full. Homeschooling 4 is certainly a fulltime job, maybe that’s where all my time has been going.

Our “Beyoncé themed” baby shower was a hit. The mom-to-be was quite smitten with everything.

I’m headed to the Pinner’s Conference for Michaels in Dallas this week. Anyone going? Any Arlington/Dallas friends out there?

The girls and I are super excited and thankful that all our thrifting has completed almost all of their costumes. We still have a couple details to figure out (and make), but it’s coming together.

I watched First They Killed My Father and now I want to read this book. Maybe I’ll see if they have it at the library to bring it on the plane.

Rawson has plenty of goods perfect for fall!

Happy Sunday, friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful my baby is now 6 years old!

Love this quirky drawing.

Would love to wear this outfit, especially that denim kimono.

Gave Glow this book for her birthday and she loved it.

Perfect autumn dress from Ms. Tips.

This is my favorite candle scent and I need to pick up one for when we travel.

Beautiful home and makes me want to simplify the house even more.

Don’t forget to follow WOVENFOLK on Instagram.

This post came late this weekend, but better late than never. I’m off this weekend since we were off celebrating Glow’s birthday last week and trying to get back in to the swing of things. One of the perks of homeschooling is you can go on vacations when it’s less crowded.

Hope you all had a restful weekend!
