the lady and her hatThe newest plant added to my indoor collection, and of course I’m still wanting more. Thankfully, I’m able to keep them alive.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Some recipes for homemade Girl Scout cookies that Ben emailed me. We don’t buy them because he doesn’t like the hydrogenation in them, so maybe I should try making a batch at home!

This pom pom thing looks fun to make.

Marriage (any thriving relationship really) is a lot of work. Don’t stop working friends! Everyone needs this reminder from time to time.

Loving this pullover sweatshirt that Gusta sent over.

I’m styling my first Babiekins shoot on Sunday and I’m nervous!

I’m addicted to ice cream. I seriously have half a cup every night.

I was getting into watching House of Cards, but it just didn’t make me feel good. I don’t know. I was 8 episodes in and realized, I don’t like it. I mean it’s interesting, but Kevin Spacey creeps me out, so while the storyline is pretty good, it just wasn’t something I wanted filling my brain any longer. I can’t wait for the Olympics to be over so all my regular shows can come back. Good news is Walking Dead is back and I don’t mind thinking about zombies! Those don’t creep me out as much as Kevin Spacey.

Weekend’s here… yipee! I know some people think it’s dumb for stay home moms to get excited about the weekend because we get to stay home all the time (though that doesn’t mean I’m just home eating bon bons and twiddling my thumbs), but I love the weekends because that means I get to do the parenting with Ben by my side all weekend long and 2 on 4 is so much easier than 1 on 4.

love day flowers from benI love fresh picked flowers, those are my favorite kind, and Ben did just that for my Valentine’s flowers. I love them so much, but I love the giver much more!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Perfection isn’t the goal, Jesus is. Good for my heart. Found via Crystal Lewis.

Um hello, chocolate pullover rolls! Please make your way into my stomach.

I so want to make this color block clock!

Love the entertaining inspiration on Planning Pretty! Entertaining is one of my weak areas. My mom, on the other hand, is a pro!

I have been getting horrible sleep at night accompanied with excruciating neck and shoulder pains. I’ll wake up at 4am, can’t fall back asleep until 6ish, only to have to wake up 30 minutes later feeling really tired.

I’m finally getting my sewing area organized and I’m itching to sew again. I think I want to make a dress today!

How cute are the questions my Brave wrote down to ask the doctor? #iloveher #iloveallofthemreally

Have a good weekend friends! The weather here is sunny and warm, so we are going to try and spend some time enjoying its loveliness!

family lifeThis is the big girls’ room and it always looks like this. It stays clean for oh… about 10 seconds, and then their room looks like a tornado (of 4 girls) blew through. While the majority of the house stays reasonably tidy, this room cannot. It’s kid life for sure!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

“I Feel Like a Mean Mom” post (via Girl Talk) really resonated the struggles of my heart.

Again amazed by Katie’s bus transformation. This latest post of raising a bus roof is just so interesting!

Thankful that one of my first blogging friends, Nathalie, is back to blogging! She makes such amazing quilts! Follow her instagram (here) to see more of her work.

I love this whipped body butter from SQ Apothecary. I’ve got the driest hands on the planet (seriously), and this makes them feel so much better!

We are still obsessed with Frozen over here and I love how the girls get into singing all the songs. I secretly recorded them the other day.

Thankful for being able to check things off my to-do lists!

Don’t forget to check out the things I’m swapping over at Swapdom.

This would be so sweet to make for Valentine’s Day!

Thanks friends for taking the time to visit here this week, I sincerely appreciate it. You guys are just so great!

homeThis week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

We’re reading The Canterbury Tales and the girls are loving the stories!

Wanna read my tip on how I keep my home from looking like a toy store explosion? Read it on Apartment Therapy here.

Cute Love Day dresses made by the mama from City Kid Style.

I’m so going to cook this next week.

True officially has her big girl bed and now I’m on the hunt for some cute bedding! Any suggestions?

Loving the new clogs Lotta from Stockholm has in stock!

Miss my friend Melody and so glad I have her blog to see what she’s up to!

I ordered my planner for the year and I can’t wait for it to get here. Yes, I know, I’m totally a month late. Better late than never right?!

I’ve been following along with a one year Bible reading plan. I’m praying that I stay consistent this year. I usually fall off the wagon when March comes around.

Thankful for some family time with my family last Sunday. We live close, but don’t see each other too often. We’re all such busy folk!

It’s February 1st and next week I will have some more Valentine’s Day projects for you! Happy weekend friends!!!

she's bakingThis week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

This big girl of mine started doing her own baking this week. Granted, they’ve been box mixes, but you’ve got to start somewhere!

My soul needed the reminders in this song (shared to me from my bff)… everything is meaningful and doing something. Those are wise words.

I’m so awed by how Katie’s family is converting a school bus into a living space for a home! This and this post is so interesting!

Good and interesting article that was circling Facebook.

I love the colors in this room.

I realized this week that I enjoy cooking. I’m not a natural and it’s taken over a year to get used to it, but I really like it!

Thankful for the maturity I see my big girls exhibiting.

My friend told me about Giada’s new cookbook and I can’t wait to check it out! Anyone have it yet?

We had a busy Saturday of having to take care of some unexpected things, but we did get to take the girls to the Safari Park, so I’m so thankful for that family time!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

shelvesA little snippet of Soul and Glow’s room. We’re about do some bed switching around since True got a big girl bed, so Soul will get her little bed. I can’t wait to start getting their rooms figured out again.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Glow pronounces S words with an H, so Soul is “Hole,” sock is “hock,” and Spider-man is Hider-man. It’s so adorable!

I want to make this muffin.

Thankful for restored friendships. Sometimes we let minute things ruin a friendship.

These two posts encouraged me (via the Girl Talk blog). Comparing and envy doesn’t get anyone anywhere. It’s bad for the soul.

Thankful for quiet meditating and prayer times this week.

The girls and I are obsessed with the Frozen soundtrack; we sing “Let It Go” at the top of our lungs! Brings me back to my childhood Disney days of listening to the music (on cassette!) over and over again.

Love this DIY on how to make a journal from Lemonhead Press.

Having a budget feels kind of like playing a game. I like the challenge!

It’s been warm and summer-like here lately, so we will probably spend the weekend outdoors. What are you up to this weekend?
