This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

These rose espadrilles are really sweet.

I miss telling more life stories here. I think that needs to come back.

If I were pregnant, I’d get this vintage denim dress. If you’ve got a baby bump, I think you need this in your rotation.

I want to sew a denim top like this.

There’s about 2 and half months left in the school year. That’s insane! It’s going so fast!

My heart is thankful for a lovely beach day with the girls.

Obsessed with The Voice judges cover of “Waterfalls” and I don’t even watch that show, but I am a 90s kid.

This week was an overwhelming whirlwind. While it does look there was a lot of play based on instagram, there was a lot of work too. I feel like I’m a little behind in life this week. Maybe it has to do with losing that hour.

We are very thankful for more light in the evening and for the sunshiny days we’ve been having. The rain is coming back this week, but that will also be good for our garden. There’s lots to do in our garden now that spring is here.

Weary Mom, Come to Me” is something my soul needed to read.

Our Sundays are spent gathered with our church family in the morning for service, and again in the evening. It’s a full day and tiring, but our souls are so encouraged. I love this article “Why I love an Evening Service” as it helps remind us why we do what we do.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

I want a jumpsuit/overalls like this. Maybe I should try to sew my own.

Made the sushi bake for the kids and they loved it (I left out the sour cream because we didn’t have any).

Thankful for a special date out with my parents; it was nice to have some alone time with them.

Another blessing was our Friday night hang out with our friends/neighbors. Time with the Chavez family always means delicious food and good times.

Kind of curious to see how these jeans fit.

We finally watched Trolls this week and I actually stayed awake. I typically fall asleep during animated films, but all the music in this one kept me engaged.

If you love macramé, get this bag.

I used to wear a 5.5, but after having kids, I’m a solid 6 in shoes. If you’re a 5.5, these  are really cool vintage shoes.

My goal for this week was not accomplished. I’m still having a hard time turning to my Bible first thing when I wake up. I’m hoping the time change this week will help my body get motivated to wake up early to spend time in the word. I’m going on week 3 of trying to kick this bad habit.

This week we mourn the death of two women who loved the Lord. They lived long and full lives, and while they will be missed here, we rejoice in Christ that they are no longer suffering. It’s good to be confronted with the brevity of life because it’s easy to forget that life is just a vapor. I easily get caught up in the trivial things like keeping a clean house, or the next item I want, or being too quick to anger for something ridiculous. Life is too short to get stuck on those meaningless things, but my affections are so easily swayed towards the meaningless. Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is for Christ and to die is gain. I’m praying that God permeates that through my heart this week.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Loving this grandma chic crochet top from Anthropologie.

I’m working on a project that I can’t wait to share with you all soon. Hint: it has to do with my basket obsession (and maybe a new shop). 😉

Annie Costello Brown earrings are my fave and this one seems to be on sale right now.

Thankful for Ben’s leading to read the Bible together every day, though I might have been hesitant at times (when he wants to read right before bed). We’re reading through Revelations together.

Super grateful that the girls can reach the top shelves of the kitchen now, so they can put away plates and bowls! Now, I only have to put away the glasses. This is very helpful.

How cool is this space pod playhouse?! Not badly priced too.

Besides my love for blue and denim, I’ve been drawn to a lot of cream and ivory lately like in this outfit.

Last week, I didn’t pick a bad habit to kick , but I’m still struggling with the turning to my Bible first rather than IG or Pinterest first thing in the morning. I think that’s what I’ll keep needing to work on for this next week.

My girls might love this sushi bake; I might try out my own version this week.

One of 3 plants I’m looking for until I declare my home plant collection complete.

We don’t redecorate often in our home. I stick to what I love and never really go with the home trends (never got on that chevron pattern thing), but I am itching to redecorate a little. I don’t want to change out any furniture (I love what we have!), but maybe move things around and change out some accent pieces. First, I have to tackle taxes and then the home rearranging can commence.

There are lots of markdowns in the Ms. Tips vintage shop this weekend! Someone snag this silk jacket please.

Have a glorious weekend friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful for opportunities that teach me how to roll with it. Sometimes I fail, and sometimes I roll with it and everyone stays calm.

My lesson plan are done for the next month. Woot! Woot!

I love the new shoe colors for Marais USA. Pre-orders are happening now!

So inspired to make a rope bag in this shape.

How sweet is this Edwardian top?!

Totally loving the vibe in this photo.

Cooked these sliders this week and the girls loved it! Easy and delicious!

Thanks to Airbnb, we are off this weekend chasing palm trees, catching sunsets, and getting sandy. Follow our adventures here. It’s nice to escape a bit and go off “memory hunting” (anyone remember when I had that blog?). #cakiesadventures

We definitely will be relishing our weekend, and I hope you cherish yours too!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

I’m thankful we’ve really been able to enjoy the sunshine this week.

Friday also brought a nice pouring in of rain, which California is very thankful for.

The color palette in this image is calming to me.

How sweet are these sandals for the spring (and of course, summer)?

If you’re a size 7-8, you need to get these way cool vintage shoes.

I’ve been looking for a good natural deodorant for kids, anyone have any good recommendations?

Slowly, I’ve been transitioning to only using make-up/body products that are natural and paraben-free (and only with ingredients I can pronounce products), so I just ordered this natural blush. I hope this works out!

This week I did okay with my bad habit cutting. The bad habit I wanted to cut out is to not turn to my phone (instagram and email) first thing in the morning and to read my Bible (on my phone) instead. I did well on the the days we didn’t work out, but when we did, not so much. We work out first thing in the morning, and once we’re done, it’s time to go and get the day started with the girls. I didn’t get to read my Bible first thing on those days. I think this means I need to go back to my 5 am wake up time, so I can read before we workout. It’s been so cold and makes it a little difficult to wake up early, but I need to suck it up and get back to it.

Have a great Sunday folks!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

We’ve got pummelos the size of your face growing in our garden.

The week started off bad, and we were all out of sorts on Monday, but praise God for new mercies and abounding grace that came every morning. The girls and I are constantly learning from all the little (and big) bumps in this mother-daughter relationship, and what it always comes down to is how we all need Jesus. It’s a cycle of repent, forgive, and believe.

I don’t own a pair, but I love no. 6 clogs. Mom, I like these or these! 😉

I’ve been craving shabu shabu (from here), ramen, korean bbq, or a burger. I get burger (and korean bbq) cravings often because we don’t eat red meat at home.

Everlane’s wide leg cropped pants come out on Valentine’s Day and I can’t wait to see what colors they come out with. I may have to pick up a pair.

Anyone know where you can find this basket?

These leather mules are cool (and made in the USA).

Totally feeling the vibes in this home. I think it’s the unique, vintage chairs, and the subtle pink throughout. Of course, all the glorious house plants too.

I did a good job cutting down my checking of news outlets this week. I cut it down to once a day, and sometimes it’s no times a day. I think next week’s habit change will be to open my Bible (on my phone) first thing, rather than check ig on my phone.

This article has me seeing that I need to pray for the Lord to make me more bold.

Oh man… Seven Costs of Disciple Making is another loving heart slap.

I love this space to share crafts and frivolous things like shoes, but I know life is more than that, and it’s matters of the heart (and soul) that matters most. I’m thankful to all of you who tune in here to check out all the random things that make up me, from sharing ice cream recipes to heart rants. I pray that this space you are encouraged to love God more in and through all.
