This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Found a cool, vintage, denim jumpsuit. I’m a sucker for anything denim. Good finds always make me dance.

Sweet Easter basket stuffers from Kinoko Kids.

Everlane’s got underwear coming out on Monday and I’m excited to check it out.

My brother gets married tomorrow! Woot! He’s the last one.

Basket lovers… Ms. Tips has some good a good spring bag here.

I think my silly girls would like this Don’t Laugh Joke Book Challenge in their Easter baskets.

A rebuke to my heart and a call to shift my perspective in this article, “Parenting Means Wrestling Demons.”

So thankful for the community God has given. Our families and friends are such a gift. I’m thankful for this every week.

Many things have been weighing on my heart this week. The idea of comfort, suffering, eternity, and dying to self. God’s been doing a doozy in our lives, but while it’s crazy now, it’s for our good and we can trust God even when we don’t get it.

Can’t wait to see my brother walk down the aisle tomorrow. It will be so different being on the groom side, since I’m always used to my sisters getting married. It was so different for my parents too. My dad usually waits at the end of the line, but now that get to see it unfold from the beginning. Happy weekending, friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Taxes are done! Woot!

The girls are so cute playing “Golden Years.” I think I have artists and entrepreneurs on my hands.

Thankful for Glow’s progress in reading. She’s a math girl (my one and only), but she’s starting to like reading. YAY!

My BFF is such a blessing as she’s been sending food to help ease our crazy weeks of late. Also, thankful for everyone in our community. It takes a village to live life.

I can’t do the bangs thing, but I love this hairstyle. Makes me want to go with my natural waves instead of put foam rollers on my head every night.

Such a great pair of high-waisted jeans. I found 2 really good ones this week. One will make it to the shop, but I’m probably keeping the other.

Our front yard edible garden is coming along. I need to share an update!

Trying out this Shea Butter Shampoo for the first time. I like the smell of it so far.

Enjoy your weekend! We’ve got birthday parties and house projects this weekend. How about you?

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

So thankful for friends and family who helped bear our burdens. Friends brought over ice cream, food, lots of prayer, listening ears, verses from the Bible when I was in no mood to to read it, texts checking in with us, etc. I praise the Lord for this community of grace he has so generously given us. It is such a treasure.

Was able to spend time with friends many times this week and I needed that. I look forward to my Wednesday afternoon dates with Helen and Wednesday night dinners with my parents.

My favorite Kettle Corn. Cant. Stop. Eating. It.

I need (okay, want) a pink jumpsuit in my life.

Got 2 of these dresses and 2 of these for my little flower girls, who will be in my brother’s wedding in a couple weeks. I was gonna sew it, but I’m running out of time, so Target and Old Navy to the rescue.

My mom would probably love it if my siblings and I all wore (and followed) this tee.

Pretty linen, oversized, yellow jacket. So fun for spring!

I’ll be teaching beginning macrame at the Pinners Conference on Friday, April 13th (only one class). Get tickets here! Use promo code CAKIES and get 10% off.

This week will be a busy week with a Family Fun Mag shoot I’ve been making projects for that will take place on Thursday, and then Golden Years Market on Saturday, where I’ll set up shop with all my Wovenfolk goods. So grateful for the busyness as it’s an answered prayer and thankful that I get to do things I love.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Thankful we had a good family day at the Date Festival on Friday.

I like most of Justin Timberlake’s new album. I’m not one to swoon over him, but I do think he puts on a good show and makes catchy music.

Gorgeous blue acetate earrings from Dear Soho.

We are starting to get used to Ben’s new work schedule and we are loving having his 4 day weekends every other week. It’s something we prayed for for awhile and it’s been a blessing.

I’m teaching a macrame workshop next Saturday. If you’re interested in hosting your own, just gather your friends, and I’d love to come you! Send an email for details.

Obsessed with these Island Girl Workouts on youtube. I want the DVD. Oh my legs, buns, and abs feel good after.

If purple is your color, get this minimalist linen dress.

I’m curious, for those of you who are still blog readers, what do you want to see more of here? I have some ideas I’ve been brainstorming, but I would love to have your feedback. Do you come here for crafts, life/heart rantings, homeschooling, style? I know my blog reading list has dwindled over the last few years, and instagram is the thing now, but I hate the algorithm change and I miss the community aspect blogging used to be. I’m so appreciative of the time you’ve taken here over the years, it means so much. I’ve been thinking lately, what do I want to do at 49 (the age I’ll be when Glow goes off to college)? With that in mind, I’ve been pondering about what I really want to do with my online presence and the things I am passionate about.

We’ll be enjoying the sunshine here this weekend. Hope you get some of the same wherever you are!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

In the middle of a website refresh, so don’t mind the wonky bits here and there. It’s still a work in progress, but hopefully once it’s completed, it will be simpler and mobile friendly.

I’d really like some garlic parmesan potato wedges.

Thankful that the second round of the flu stayed confined to True alone, and after a few days of resting, she was back to her normal self.

Brave is so excited to finally start the very last Harry Potter book!

I ought to tap into my Filipino heritage more and make Filipino food (like this lumpia), with a healthy slant of course.

Everlane’s got some new goods and if you’ve been wanting to try some wide leg pants, I highly recommend theirs.

And how darling are these pink heeled mules from the Gap?! It certainly declares spring!

Been reminded this week that God’s plans are perfect. I don’t need to freak out or doubt when things aren’t according to plan (all of last year felt that way for our family), but I can keep trusting because God is God.

Hope you get a restful weekend, friends!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Praise God for a doozy of a week of trial, but through them I have certainly felt a sweetness of Christ that I sorely lacked.

Our figs are confused, and while most have dropped their leaves, this warm winter has some figs still blooming and growing.

I highly recommend this video about a panel discussion on “Race & Reconciliation.” Even if you aren’t a believer, it is helpful to deepen our understanding of what our African American neighbors/friends face. There is so much I was ignorant of (and still am), but we all ought to listen well to the stories of others different from us.

Thankful for having a community in which I can be honest and vulnerable. The grace that flows through my accountability group is such a gift.

Chic tassel earrings available on Wovenfolk.

Soul and Glow are doing so well with their 2 an 3 multiplication family. Woot!

Been using this eyebrow gel for about a month now and I’m happy with the results.

I’d love to make these bite size blooming onions! I wonder if I can bake them instead of fry.

My girls would love this wooden pom pom maker.

This week I taught a floral arranging workshop. If you’re interested in hosting a workshop… gather some friends together and I’ll come to you! I miss the community aspects blogging used to be, so I’d like to get to know some of you more personally. With my love for people and making, I wanted to combine it together and continue this creative community in person. If you’re interested in macrame, weaving, floral arranging, making seed bead earrings, or have some other project in mind, contact me for rates!

Happy weekending, folks!
