MY BABY KID IS 7!

September 13, 2018

Where did time go?!! This girl has grown in leaps and bounds this year in maturity, but she’ll forever be my baby kid! Her heart has grown so much in compassion and love for others, especially babies. She never really cared for babies before, and didn’t like when I held babies, but she loves them all so much now. I see that natural nurturer in her coming out, but I guess I’m not surprised because she has 3 older sisters that take real good care of her.

She’s my cuddle buddy. Loves to sleep. She deals with her problems by sleeping. Green is her favorite color. She will always have something green on. Hates reading, but loves math. Yoda is her favorite character. Doesn’t like dresses (though I hope she likes the birthday dress I made her). Loves to draw. Wants to be near all the babies. She’ll say I’m her best friend, but if Ben is around, she’ll make sure to say it’s the both of us. Doesn’t like the movie Coco. Wants to be a zookeeper. Loves short hair and is debating if she wants bangs. She’s our quirky kid and does and says random things, which she thinks makes her the funniest sister.

We love you, Glow! I know year 7 has some big things coming up for you and I can’t wait to see how God continues to grow that big heart of yours!

Anyone been following since her birth or before? I’m sure you’re in shock she’s 7 too! Tell time to slowwww dowwwwn pleaseeee. Go down memory lane and read how I hypnobirthed her out into this world here.

birthday prep

September 11, 2017

My baby turns 6 in a few days (it seems like she was just born yesterday!), so we’re in overdrive prepping for her celebration. Right after her birthday last year, she declared that for her next birthday she wanted a “shape birthday.” I know, kind of random. I thought for sure she would change her mind, but it stuck. I’m finding more and more that once she has her mind set on something, that’s it. She’s a girl that knows what she wants, so shape birthday it is!

my last five year old

September 13, 2016

My baby is five! FIVE! How did that go so fast?!

I’m out of town, but we did a party for her before I left, and I’m sure she will be spoiled by her Papi and her sisters today too. She wanted a drawing birthday with balloons, so that’s exactly what got (see a peek here, will share a post soon).

Happy Birthday dear Glow! We love seeing your personality shine more and more. We love you!

If you’re curious, you can read my hypnobirthing experience with Glow here and here. I had done the epidural for the big three, but wanted to do something different for my last one.

huzzah!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

If you wanna hear me chat about hypnobirthing and motherhood, you can listen to my podcast with Kayla Geddes over at Pregnancy Perfect here.

After a rough start back into homeschooling after spring break, we had smoother sailing this week. The end of the year is in our sights and we will keep trekking along until June 7 comes.

Soul seems to be finally getting this reading thing. It’s pretty terrific to see these words slowly come alive to her.

Spicy ramen with tofu? Yes, please.

I’d happily put spicy cauliflower burgers in my stomach too.

Oh my world … this colorful weaving is amazing.

Turns out what I thought were my allergies acting up was that I was actually sick. Ben made an appointment for me to see the doctor, and apparently I am sick. My response … #aintnobodygottimeforthat.

Thinking about this rug for a space in our home.

How awesome are these retro travel Star Wars posters?! The girls would love to have these up in their room.

Happy weekending friends!

our littlest love turns two

September 13, 2013

GlowOur littlest love she turns two,
I can’t believe how fast it flew.

This little Glow, yes, she does shine,
She’s definitely captured this heart of mine.

Her favorite things are a cat, a bear, and a coyote too,
So we will celebrate by taking her to the zoo!

Happy birthday to our little light,
We all love you so much with all our might.

Happy Birthday Glow!!! We love you!!!

Glow turns one

We did a party 2 weeks before her actual birthday (post to come), but on her actual birthday we just went to the beach as a family, had a picnic, and played. We were the only people on the beach for a bit, and then even when people came, it was just a couple or two. It was such a beautiful day. All the girls loved playing in the sand and Glow was so content to just sit there and watch.

I packed us some sandwiches and baked mini banana bread, one with nuts (True’s allergic) and one without, and that’s how we sang Happy Birthday! Glow goes bananas about bananas, so I thought she would like banana bread. Nope. She didn’t. At least she liked the sandwich and the tomatoes we packed!

I can hardly believe it’s been a year since she was born. It went by so fast! It always happens that way, doesn’t it?! She’s such a little joy and so easy! She doesn’t walk yet and her mode of operation of late has been bear crawling everywhere. She’s doesn’t always want food from mama anymore and she gets really excited about her Papi. All the sisters dote on her incessantly and we all love her so, so much. We are so thankful for this year God has given her! She definitely is the completer of the little Ben-Ruby collection. I think this family outing was the perfect way to celebrate our littlest love!
