In case you were wondering, Soulie is still the baby and so far Monday will continue on like normal… one week left until “technical” due date.
Wanna see some instagrams from our weekend? Lookie here. Was your weekend just as low key as ours?

HUZZAH, FRIDAY!

September 10, 2011

her days as the baby continues
With every passing day I am still pregnant, this little one gets one day extra of being the baby! I don’t think she minds all that much.
Learned and links…
– The girls love calling me “teacher” while we are doing school.
– Ben just learned I don’t like popcorn.
– My girls need to work on immediate “right away, all the way, with a happy heart” obedience. They have been really bad at it lately.
– Soulie hates people touching her food or bothering her when eating.
– True doesn’t really like to eat breakfast of late. I think we need to find something new for her to eat, instead of just O’s all the time.
– True has a new friend named Chloe.
– My sister has the most honest reflections.
Twitter is all sorts of fun! And instagram makes it even better!
– We are so ready for baby to come!
Happy weekending folks… I wonder what our weekend has in store for us!

WAITING AROUND

September 9, 2011

Ben’s been home these past few days and though we are anxiously waiting for baby, it has been kinda nice having these last few days to all do things together as a family of five.
just waiting just waiting just waiting just waiting just waiting just waiting
We have been spending these past few days eating together, playing hide and seek, he has been doing his share of teaching the girls, watching movies as a family, and going on food runs together. He has been so great with things around the house and just helping make things so much easier for me at this stage of my pregnancy. We know baby will be here soon and we wonder every night if tonight is the night, but I can’t think of any better way to spend our days before baby does finally decide to come.

Babycakies… come out, come out, whenever you want!!!

VINTAGE HERE, VINTAGE THERE: SUMMER DAYS

September 8, 2011

These pictures were taken over a month ago and though my tummy looks like it couldn’t really stretch much more, it has. It was a blazing and super bright summer day and we were just driving around our area looking for a nice picture spot when we came across this random cliff. It has a really pretty view and made us feel a bit like we were in Texas. We actually came back to this spot last weekend to snap up some family maternity photos.
Things here in SoCal are still as hot as ever and while the rest of the country is starting to bust out cardigans and tights, not us, at least not yet. Usually, that doesn’t take place until end of October, but I won’t complain much because I know temperatures stay pretty moderate the rest of the year, while lots of folks have to deal with extreme weather changes.

I love my little girlies so much, though there are days I feel so nutso with them (and I go nutso too!). Ben was telling me the other day how he forgets they are a mix of both of us. I mean, we know that, but we kinda forget. Children are really such miracles and the process of a person being made is such a miracle. How it starts with a little tadpole and an egg dancing together and then BAM! is all beyond me. God is pretty amazing in planning all of this, isn’t he?!!

I can’t wait to see how these three will interact with the new baby. Brave is definitely the one who is most drawn to babies, True is the typical older sister, and Soul… she will be another story. I am kinda nervous for her!
In everyone’s attempts to guess if we are having a boy or girl, they would ask me if I have bought any boy things and my answer is yes! Actually, ever since I had True, I have been buying cute vintage boy things here and there just in case there was ever a need, so we will find out if there is a need soon enough. Both our families (and closest friends) are dying with excitement to know what’s cookin’ inside because we haven’t told them either. My parents even tried bribing me with money to tell them, but that didn’t even work! But we can’t wait to unleash this secret soon enough.

Despite the heat here and the fact I pretty much won’t be leaving the house once baby comes, I am still dream-plotting my Fall/Winter closet. Dream is the key word. Shopping (even online window shopping) is so my downfall. Sometimes, I just shouldn’t even look because looking may get me in trouble. I love clothes too much and sometimes I really wish I didn’t.
Don’t forget to head over to Rachel’s and check out what vintage they are giving some lovin’ to. I am always loving the outfits she puts together for herself and her kiddos. They are one stylish bunch! I wish we were neighbors so we could do some swapping from time to time. Wouldn’t that be fun, Rachel?!!

MEET STRAWBERRY

September 8, 2011

Today, I had a nice little brunch with Danni and Lillian sans the girls (Ben was the lucky guy who did homeschooling with them today). When I came home, Brave immediately introduced me to her new pet Strawberry. She had gathered this tiny sprig of flowers from the garden yesterday, requested a teeny vase, and now she had put a pet on top of it. It was quite a heart melting little sentiment despite the fact that bugs kinda creep me out.

Brave carries this teeny vase around keeping her flowers and Strawberry near, but she won’t ever touch Strawberry herself and Ben has to do it all the touching. Strawberry did get moved from her sight a bit during lunch because Strawberry started moving, which freaked out Soul causing her to go ballistic, so we had to move Strawberry away. It seems that Strawberry just likes to chill out on top a sprig of chives, which is the herb these flowers came from.
Nice to meet you Strawberry…

BOXED IS THE WAY TO GO

September 7, 2011

Sometimes it is good not to make things from scratch, provided the box mixed doesn’t contain any hydrogenation, which is just so bad for you. We were itching for blueberry muffins and we had a easy peasy box mixed and baked them right up.

True was at school and Bravey and Soul were having a hoot together. They actually don’t play together much because it is True and Brave together and Soul is my little sidekick. I think with True gone one day a week, it will give Soulie and Bravey plenty of sister bonding time. They are real sweet together, just like these boxed blueberry muffins.
And since these were just boxed muffins, we gave them a bit more visual appeal by cutting out parchment paper squares and baking them in those in the muffin pan. I think they look cute that way! Oh and we sprinkled brown sugar on top! Can’t go wrong with extra brown sugar.
I want to try baking these next. What are you in the mood to whip up? I am in the mood to whip out this baby!
