swimmin'This week has been filled with days outside in the backyard, lots of cooking, lots of homeschooling, and mama project completing. I’m particularly excited about my project completing (my project lists never seem to end) so I can take the girls field tripping. I kind of miss being bored.

The week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Soul loves swimming! At home, she wears her bathing suit all day, every day.

Glow can now say, “May I be excused please?” When she’s done eating and wants to leave the table. Well, it sounds more like, “May-I-B-Cue-P?”

True’s been reading one Junie B. Jones book a day! That girl loves to read!

I just bought Me & Mr. Cassidy’s new EP release here. So good!

My girls love pretending they have an iphone with an old calculator, so I know they would definitely love this wood phone a lot!

Kiwi Crate sent a box over and we can’t wait to try it out!

This parody on Taylor Swift’s 22 is funny! Made Ben and me laugh. Thanks for sharing Joanna!

I wear this necklace almost everyday. It goes with everything!

I really like this post by SF Girl By Bay about the pressures of social media. I like to be as open as I can be in this space because I never want to deceive anybody. Online lives are definitely very much edited to mostly show the pretty, so never think of yourself as inadequate compared to what you see online. Rachel also did a really good real life post here. And well, you already know about my f-bombing day too. Blogging is such a weird phenomenon.

I’m really thankful for the weekend. I love the weekends!!! Don’t you?

baby and chardWe’ve got giant chard growing in our yard. Soon though, all the winter stuff is going to be uprooted and tomatoes will be going in. I love having tomatoes in our garden, so I’m pretty excited!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Glow loves copying her sisters!

Soul is the best at saying, “Thank you.”

We were at the Fall/Winter ’13 Misha Lulu shoot yesterday and I loved all the new designs. I typically always do, but Karen just gets better every season and all her fabrics could easily be turned into wallpaper, pillows, and curtains. That lady needs to branch out with those things!

I love this color scheme. I’m thinking of it for our backyard cozy space.

Cute sandals for a 6.5!

I miss this friend who moved up north, but am thankful for blogs (and emails and texts) that still keep us connected.

The BFF is selling these Doc Martens, if interested, send her an email or me an email to get in touch with her. The very first paycheck I ever got I splurged and bought myself some maryjane docs. I loved those forever!

Thank you for the sweet words of encouragement back from my last post. I was nervous to write it because it was just kind of nasty behavior, but God is graciousness and forgiving and I want this space to accurately portray who I am as much as I’m able. Never look here and think it’s all rainbows and sunshine because it honestly can be dark and gloomy for me too.

Happy weekend friends! Ben’s working on projects outside and I’m working on some inside. Plus, our downstairs bathroom flooded while I was gone yesterday afternoon (thankfully Ben came home early), and it did warp some of the wood floors near it. Ugh. Thus, we’ve got that to deal with today too. Please tell me I’m not the only this has happened too and they’re just wood floors, right?!

spring breakWe’re on spring break this week… yippee! It really isn’t too different, since we homeschool, but at least it’s a bit more relaxed of a schedule, we can do some outings, and I can clean! The idea of cleaning sounds really fun right now. Am I boring or what? Maybe it’s because I know with cleaning comes decorating and I love rearranging things! So fun!

This week’s learned, link, and thankfulness…

I always mean to get this post up on Friday or Saturday, but once the weekend hits, I try not to be online. Plus we spent all of Saturday working in the backyard. I love working with Ben on the yard and having the girls just playing all around us.

Glow can say, “My shoes,” at least it sounded like it, and “Mommy!” a whole lot more these days. She tries to do everything her sisters do and as a result gets hurt a lot. I have a feeling that’s common with the baby in a family.

Ben went to a sleep disorder class and learned a lot of interesting things about sleep! He totally drew a sleep cycle chart for me on our bathroom mirror.

I want to bake this.

Erika’s parties are always amazing!

Thankful for my church family. We’re all a bunch of non-perfect people sharing life together and I’m thankful for the grace God pours out.

Excited I was able to do some slight furniture rearranging downstairs.

We will no doubt have some fun little adventures this week. I already have one planned for tomorrow with a friend. I’m excited!!! Spring break… we’re glad you’re finally here!

swimmingThis week’s newest thing has been swimming. We’re enjoying really warm days here and a little bit lighter of a load. I’ve been working on cleaning out a room, but it seems while I do that, I let the rest of the house go and so the scale remains imbalance. Will I ever have a completely clean house? I’m kinda feeling that probably won’t happen. Oh well. The mess stress will always be there in some way so maybe I just need to get out of the house more to forget about it! HA! Out of sight, out of mind, right?!

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Google reader is shutting down. If you still wanna follow along, join up here!

One night, True, Brave, and Soul were up late just chatting away in their room. It was dark and all we could hear was little voices and giggles. It’s adorable! They will make many memories together in that little room.

Thankful for our babysitter who comes to help out when I need her (thanks Steph!)! I get so much done when she’s here.

Thankful the girls warmed up to swimming on their second lesson. Whew!

Pray for my sister, she injured her back in a major way and when you’re a dancer, that’s no bueno.

Hello Camp Comfort is always a fave.

Beth’s growing her business and Salvage Life is moving. I can’t wait to see how her business will grow!

I love this vintage jewelry shop on etsy. I’m not in particular need of anything, but it’s just fun to see all the beautiful pieces that stream in. All of them are really gorgeous one of a kind pieces!

Thankful for a very creative husband. He’s been giving me surprises lately and I love them all. Apparently, I get more later today.

We’re planning a trip to Napa in a couple months. I’m so excited!

Enjoy your weekend friends! I have a couple parties to go to, but apparently Ben and the girls have more surprises when I get home tonight. Yippee!!!

my girliesI always mean to get this post up on Friday or Saturday, but never get to.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

Glow’s okay, but she will need surgery for her tongue. She will have surgery in April and they will have to cut away the scar tissue, then use several stitches to put her tongue back together. We’re thanking God there’s a solution, but I’m still nervous for my baby.

I had such bad allergies all day yesterday that Ben gave me benadryl last night and man oh man. I could not wake up this morning. I woke up to work out (at 6am) and 15 minutes in, I couldn’t hang and was falling asleep, so I went back to bed and didn’t wake up until 9am!

Brave’s totally into the side ponytail these days. She’s an 80’s girl.

This is a big milestone. Glow started sleeping in her own room (well, she shares with Soulie, but Soulie sleeps with the big girls right now). This will sound funny, but she had been sleeping in our closet (it’s a fairly good size walk in) and I just didn’t want to take the baby out of our room. She’s my baby!!! It was time though and I miss having her right there, but this is good for her (and us). It was a very hard step for this mama.

Ben surprised me with some gardening boots! But they’re a size too big so we have to exchange them, but I love them.

I love being out in the garden and so thankful for the time out there all day on Saturday. I have been pinning garden ideas like crazy!

The girls start swim classes today and they are so excited!

This is totally late, but honored to be named as one of Babble’s T0p 50 Mom Craft Blogs. It’s a great list with a lot of my favorite online people. I always appreciate the time you take to visit here. I really do!

Thankful for reminders from friends that I need to reflect God in whatever situation I am put in. I fail miserably at that.

Be back later with another post. It’s hard to be out the computer these days (hence my lack of posting) when all I want to do is go outside and garden. The girls have totally been loving the warm days and sit outside and play for hours. Later this week we’re support to hit the 90’s, so it looks like we will be enjoying the sun a lot more these days.

happy it's marchWe’re starting to gear up for spring and summer gardening. Just last night, Ben was already talking about making his tomato garden plans. We haven’t harvested everything from our winter garden and we’re already talking about uprooting and replanting for summer. So much planning goes into having a vegetable garden. I’m not really the one who makes them, Ben does all the planning, but I do love enjoying the fruits of his labor. Our backyard has been in such disarray, but the girls have been spending more time out there in the afternoon that I really can’t wait to get it all back in order.

This week’s learned, links, and thankfulness…

All the girls are no longer sick, but Glow’s tongue still has us worried. I seriously get anxiety about it and I have to remember to trust God with it. She has an appointment today to check on it, so hopefully the doctor says it’s healing well because it doesn’t look like it to us.

Ben and I went on our first double date with my BFF and her hubs! We’ve been best friends forever and we’ve never gone on a double date. Can you believe that?!!

We had so much fun hanging out and eating at Umami with our church family. It’s been forever since Ben and I have been able to hang out with them and we’re so thankful for that time.

We miss grandmama a lot. She was here for 2 weeks and she spoiled us with pancakes, french toast, or waffles every morning!

I love this happy hanging and want to make my own.

Thankful for the season of busyness we just had in our home, but hoping that things calm down just a little bit.

Thankful that it’s March. True’s excited because her birthday is in April and since springtime is upon us and her birthday is during this season, she insists we now call her Princess True. Oh my!

We have friends moving back into town, spring cleaning to get done, and lots of plans to be outside. We’re all thankful for this new season the Lord has made!
